Curve House Design Architects and Engineers : Kevin HInders, Marc MItalski, Kevin Fahey Consulting Engineer: Kenneth McCown and Vidar Lerum The Curve House is a prototype which uses passive solar systems with geothermal heat exchange and photovoltaic panels/terrace shading devices that create a zero net carbon structure. The prototype uses on-site water retention and gray water recovery with aerobic water tratment systems using indigenous planting schemes to provide both filtration and retention. Materials with low imbedded energy are used throughout, including locally produced bamboo, lamboo, and recycled steel. All of these sustainable practices are harmonized to create a place which synthesizes with its environment. |
